Privacy policy

Teacher accounts

A teacher account uses a name, username and email address. Firebase Authentication handles passwords and email verification; Gwanook stores the account ID and teacher profile. Google, Microsoft or Facebook sign-in, when enabled, requests only a name, email and account ID; it does not request contacts, posts or other account data.

Game data

Gwanook stores activities, questions, materials, session codes, participant nicknames, answers and results. A teacher may optionally import student IDs and names into their groups. Students do not need an account to join with a code.

Use and access

This data is used to sign in, manage activities and groups, run games, show results and handle support requests. The owning teacher can access their groups and results; participants see the screens for the game they join. Gwanook does not sell this data or display advertising.

Services and technical data

Google Firebase Authentication, Cloud Run and Cloud Storage provide sign-in and storage. A session cookie keeps the browser signed in; cloud services may log technical request data to operate and protect the application.

Email updates

If you subscribe, the form sends your address directly to follow.it. Gwanook does not store the subscriber list; follow.it handles delivery and unsubscription under its privacy policy: follow.it privacy policy.

Retention and requests

There is currently no automatic deletion period. To request access to or removal of your data, write to the address above. We may ask you to verify account ownership before fulfilling a request.

Use with students

Students participate with a nickname and no account. Before importing student names or other identifiers, teachers should obtain any necessary authorization and avoid unnecessary sensitive data.
